It’s become one of Yarmouth’s signature events.
Five years ago, the Roaring 20’s Antique Auto Club teamed up with the Town of Yarmouth and Seafest to move their Classic Car Show from Mariners Centre to Main Street, downtown.
After just 200 cars took part the first year, this year over 600 are expected.
And this year it’s a two-day car show, tomorrow and Sunday.
Patti Durkee with the Roaring 20’s Antique Auto Club says it draws many tourists.
“The United States, from out west, we got a call yesterday from a couple from Quebec who come down specifically for this show. We don’t just have local people here, we’ll have folks from all over the Maritimes as well.”
The first big car show event is tonight, with the Classic Car Cruise through Main Street starting at 7.
The street from Grand to Forest streets will be closed to traffic for most of the weekend.
