Final fundraising numbers are out for last month’s Relay for Life in Yarmouth.
The event held on June 23rd at Mariners Centre surpassed the goal of $48,000.
Before expenses, Yarmouth raised over $68,000 this year.
Event organizer Myla Doucette says they had many great teams that helped with raising money.
“Team Tante Tan were our highest fundraisers this year, they brought in over $7,500. Team Bridging the Gap were about $1,000 behind. It’s really awesome to see that kind of money coming in.”
Money raised goes to the Canadian Cancer Society, but helps local patients.
Doucette says she hopes the momentum will continue to grow.
