Canada’s Governor General was in Lunenburg yesterday.
Julie Payette was in town as part of a visit to Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.
Payette visited Mayor Rachel Bailey at town hall before making her way down to the waterfront.
There, she was joined by Premier Stephen McNeil for a cruise around the harbour on the Bluenose.
She then went to a reception at the Fisheries Museum which featured representatives from government, Mi’kmaw dignitaries, and community and business leaders.
The Governor General said she was proud to fly in spaceships, but that Lunenburg has the greatest in Canadian ships, the Bluenose.
