A new transit bus for the Town of Yarmouth should be on the road in a few months.
The current vehicle has been out of service many times with problems ranging from a broken cam shaft to a more serious problem.
A malfunctioning computerized air bag system affected the main suspension several times.
A van that was not wheelchair accessible had to be used.
Mayor Pam Mood says the town will have two busses, one as a back-up.
“It should be a few months to get the second bus into play. There will always be a back-up accessible bus and that’s tremendously important to us and our citizens.”
She says the cost of the new vehicle is between $125,000 and $150,000.
