Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is enjoying support from both Canadians and Americans for his stance on the brewing trade war with the United States according to a poll for Global News by Ipsos Reid.
72 per cent of Canadians approve of Trudeau’s handling of the situation even while 55 per cent reported concerns he could push US President Donald Trump too far.
14 per cent of Canadians approve of Trump’s methods here, compared to 57 per cent of Americans who prefer Trudeau’s behaviour.
Almost nine in ten Canadians were happy to see politicians from all national parties support the Trudeau government on reciprocal tariffs.
70 per cent of those polled said they would avoid buying US made products where possible.
