The owner of a private childcare centre in Yarmouth says the province must move faster to address issues with pay. Jodi MacKinnon-LeBlanc of Lil’ Gems says the current formula is putting some private centres out of business. She says the much-touted Pre-Primary Program entices Early Childhood Educators away from the private sector. We speak with MacKinnon-LeBlanc, and get a response from Education Minister Zach Churchill.
The 2018 Relay For Life is coming up in Yarmouth. Last year, $46,000 was raised for the Canadian Cancer Society. Once again, the Mariners Centre will play host to the relay on Saturday, June 23rd. We speak with leadership chair Myla Doucette and event ambassador Lynette Foster.
And, country music fans will love this. The Salle-Pere Maurice LeBlanc theatre in Tusket will host a show by the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday, June 17th from 1-4pm.
