The Yarmouth Area Community Fund received a generous donation from another group earlier this week.
The 100 + Women Who Care of Yarmouth County held a meeting on Monday, and awarded the fund with $8,700.

The group chooses a charity or non-profit organization to give to at each meeting, and this time the Yarmouth Area Community Fund was selected after making a presentation.
Mary Eldridge with the fund says they try to help many groups each year.
“The environment, health and wellness, recreation, people in need. They have to be either a charity or connected with a charity to make an application.”

Eldridge says they give out around $15,000 annually, but the donation from the 100 Women will help increase that total. She says all the money they receive stays in Yarmouth County.
