It’s getting closer to the 2018 Relay for Life in Yarmouth.
The annual fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society will take place at Mariners Centre on Saturday, June 23rd from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Last year, $46,000 was raised, this year 13 teams are registered so far.
Leadership chair Myla Doucette says there will be something for everyone.
“MacKenzie School of Dance will be doing a performance for us. Of course we always have our specialty laps.”
There will also be a survivors lap to start the evening, and the lighting of the luminaries at dusk.
Eveyone is welcome to attend the Relay for Life and walk the track, which extends outside Mariners Centre as well.
This year’s relay ambassador is Lynette Foster, a two-time ovarian cancer survivor.
It’s your journey but at the same time you look behind you, next to you, behind you and everybody has the same coloured shirts. You’re not alone, everyone is there for the same purpose.”
