Veterans Affairs Canada has committed $147 million over six years for the expansion of the Veteran Family Program.
The announcement was made in Greenwood Friday by West Nova MP Colin Fraser.
He says it will help with the transition from the regular forces into civilian life.
“The increased funding will allow more programming and more veterans to access the programs at all 32 Family Resource Centres.”
Fraser says in addition, $6 million of new funding from the Department of National Defence has been provided to modernize the Military Family Services Program (MFSP) and provide additional support to military families.
I am proud of the excellent work done by the Greenwood Military Family Resource Centre. Pleased to have attended the launch of the new Veteran Family Program that will make a real difference for those who have served Canada and provide support to their families! pic.twitter.com/gjsqWUJnUz
