The 32nd annual Shelburne County Lobster Festival is underway.
Events celebrating the lobster fishing industry will take place through the week.
Committee member Anna Kenney says the Great Lobsterman Challenge returns this year.
“A group of fishermen are challenging each other in different aspects of the fishery, whether it’s rope coiling or banding lobster. It’s all on a time limit, and it’s a great event.”
That event will be Friday night at 7 at the Sandy Wickens Memorial Arena in Barrington.
There are a number of new events, including a movie night tonight, a walking tour on the Shelburne waterfront.
Kenney says people come from all over the province.
“They enjoy meals, the Lobster Fest Expo, walking the waterfront in Shelburne, music in Lockeport, there’s lots for everybody and it does draw.”
There are events every day through Sunday.
