Organizers for Scouts Canada want to see more youth take part in their programs.
They are looking at this region to expand and want to reach out to parents and youth.
Lorinda Barnett is the Scouts Canada representative for South West Nova.
She says right now there are two groups in Yarmouth.
The 2nd Yarmouth Scouting group meets at Holy Trinity Church with the Cubs and the Scout troop unit.
The 4th Yarmouth Scouting group has the Beavers and the Venturers at Beacon Church.
“We also have 3rd Barrington which is a very good group. They have all sections running at the Lion’s Club. We would love to expand right from Shelburne County around to Digby County. I’d love to see young people get involved in our area. We’re also looking for scouters.
Barnett says they want to expand in all areas of Yarmouth, Digby and Shelburne Counties.
