Sunday, another summer of racing at Lake Doucette Motor Speedway begins.
The Southwest Stock Car Association is gearing up for another fast paced season.
Vice-president Kyle Hines says they try to keep the race days flowing as fast as they can.
“We have four cylinder men’s, four cylinder women’s, V8 stock and sportsmen series. They all put on quite a show. Things have really been going well the past couple of years, we have a lot of old sponsors and old faces returning.”
Hines competes in the sportsmen class, and he says that’s always competitive.
He says they have a number of rookie drivers this year too, and the event continues to grow.
Action gets underway at 1pm.
There are many special race days this year, including memorial days for former drivers Larry Gavel and Blair Penney, and a kids day on July 8th.
