RCMP have issued a warning after an incident Friday night.
In a release, they say Shelburne RCMP were called to an address on George Street just after 8:30 p.m.
The caller said a friend was having seizures that were related to drug use.
Police say seven adults ranging in ages 18 to 28 and a two-year-old child were found in the home.
Police say the individual suffering seizures admitted to consuming fentanyl.
RCMP officers on the scene administered Naloxone, a medication that quickly reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, to the person suffering the seizures.
That individual and three others in the house who admitted to taking cocaine, were transported to hospital.
The others were examined by EHS paramedics for signs of fentanyl exposure and cleared.
The child was placed in the care of another family member.
A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene for violation of parole conditions and is currently being held in custody.
In the news release, RCMP media spokesperson Corporal Jennifer Clark said fentanyl is a dangerous and deadly drug that can be mixed with a variety of different drugs.
“Our primary concern is public safety and we want people to ensure they are aware of what may be circulating and to take the necessary precautions or rethink choices they may be able to make.
