A Yarmouth man is one of many Nova Scotia Emergency Health Services employees to be recognized for their long service.
Well known paramedic Terry Muise was honoured for 40 years of service.
He began his career at Huskilson’s Funeral Home when the business operated an ambulance service and then was employed by EHS when the company took over ambulance services in the province in the mid-90’s.
Muise, now into his 42nd year, says training for Nova Scotia’s paramedics is world-class.
He started his training at Advanced Life Support Institute in New Hampshire.
“Traveled back and forth every month for a year, come back, work for three weeks then go back to school. Then I did a year of clinicals at Yarmouth Hospital then almost another year of ride time on an ambulance with an Advanced Care Paramedic.”
Paramedic Shane Norman Strong of Ste. Anne Du Ruisseau was recognized for 30 years service and Brian Thibodeau of Saulnierville was recognized for 25 years.
