The Digby Area Health Coalition is entering year number three of existence.
Their mandate is to promote transparency and positive change in the provision of health services in the Town and Municipality of Digby.
Tony Kelly with the association says their first year focused on establishing themselves and learning more about the services, and then an engagement process took place in the second year with healthcare staff and citizens.
“Our third year will focus on intensifying that engagement and to start looking hard at what better solutions might be in terms of realigning services or bringing them into a more functional way.”
Their annual general meeting takes place on Friday night, 7pm at the Digby Regional High School.
Dr. Ajanta Jayabarathan, otherwise known as Dr. AJ will be the guest speaker, and the topic: spotlighting health service problems in the Digby area using the very best tools.
Dr. AJ is a family physician in the Halifax area and a faculty member at the Dalhousie Medical School.
