A local runner is set for a busy weekend.
Bryan Hipson of Yarmouth will be inducted into the Yarmouth Town and County Sports Heritage Hall of Fame on Saturday night at the Rodd Grand Hotel.
Immediately after that, Hipson will drive to Halifax to take part in the Bluenose Marathon on Sunday morning.
Hipson is going for his second win in his fifth Bluenose Marathon, last winning in 2016.
He says he’s just competing against himself.
“I’m going to do what I always do, try to do my best and get the best time that I possibly can.”
Hipson says he’ll look to finish at around the two hour and 45 minute mark.
As far as being inducted into the hall of fame, Hipson says it’s very humbling to be recognized.
He says all his victories in running have been shared with the community.
