A new group in West Pubnico is hoping to make a positive difference in the community.
The West Side Improvement Society will meet twice annually, and ask attendees to donate $150 at each meeting.
Members will vote on what improvement projects they’d like to see happen in West Pubnico.
Genny Prouty is with the society, and says last night’s initial meeting went very well.
“30 or 40 people showed up and we signed up a few more people, so our membership is increasing. We went through how the society works, how to sign up and how to nominate projects.”
The first meeting where money will be donated will take place on June 7th, 7pm at the West Pubnico Legion.
Prouty says nominations will be accepted up until a week before the meeting.
“You would present your project at the meeting, doing your homework on how much the project would cost. Explain to the members the project, then the members will vote on the project to give money to.”
