Argyle’s operating budget came in at just over $8 million.
Alain Muise the CAO says that the capital budget comes in at about $2 million dollars with the biggest cost being the construction of the new municipal building.
“There’s two budgets actually. There’s the Federal Gas Tax and then there’s capital reserve. The Federal Gas Tax, we’ll be spending approximately a million dollars this year and we’ll be spending a little over two million for the capital budget itself.”
He says there were other investments as well.
“Among those are a Comfit project in West Pubnico, a mobile de-watering truck to eliminate some smell issues that we were having in West Pubnico treatment, as well as some improvements to East Pubnico water utility.”
They also set tax rates last night and there’s no increase over last year.
The residential rate remains at $1.07 per $100 of assessment while the commercial rate stays at $2.25.
