(Councillor Guy Surette speaks about the dispatcher issue at Tuesday night’s meeting of Argyle council.-CJLS News)
No decision was made last night at the Municipality of Argyle’s monthly meeting regarding the pending loss of fire dispatch service in Yarmouth.
There were more questions than answers.
Alain Muise the CAO, says that the counxil wants to hear from the volunteer fire departments and their members.
“Council decided they would defer any sort of position until they heard what the volunteer firemen have to say about the service and the level of service that they require or desire.”
Muise says Argyle council understands that this is a decision of the town because they provide the service.
He also reported to council that the Fire Service Association of Nova Scotia passed a motion, unanimously, to draft a resolution on the “rationalization of fire dispatch service”.
