A park in Yarmouth is becoming a reality.
The Doug Melanson Park is named after a long time custodian who worked at Milton School.
Melanson was much-loved and noted for his kindness and community involvement.
The unique park is being developed on the site of the former school and will consist of many different types of plants and trees.
Jean Clulee a member of the Milton Improvement Society says the park will be for evryone.
” A park for children is more creative, Its better for them psychologically if the’re in green spaces. So there are a lot of green spaces in it.”
The park will also be accessible by wheel chair and offer walking paths.
To donate to the park project, go to www.dougmelansonpark.ca or check out their Facebook page.
You can listen to the full interview with Jean Clulee and David Sollows this Sunday morning on the Y95 CJLS Weekender.
