The Mayor of the Town of Shelburne says that the group she spearheaded is right on track.
Karen Mattatall, who started the Rural Nova Scotia Health Crisis Working Group to help bring awareness to the dire need for medical services in rural places, says that the group is going in the right direction.
“We are being contacted quite often from other areas of the province who are interested in doing what we are doing.”
This comes after the warden of the municipality of Yarmouth Leland Anthony that the group may need more time to address certain issues that it may be facing.
Mattatall says the group is planning a day of action in the fall.
She also added that grassroots forces will force the province into taking cretin steps to fix the healthcare problem.
The group will meet on Monday May 14 to discuss the plans.
It’s scheduled for 10:30 that morning at the Shelburne Community Centre.
