Tensions are rising over the decision to terminate four dispatching jobs from The Town of Yarmouth Fire department.
Mayor Pam Mood says that the town can not provide the services anymore.
A former 911 dispatcher that called into the Y95 Weekender this past Saturday said she was worried that the new dispatchers will not know the area.
” Can she (Mayor Mood) ensure that the dispatcher that takes over is able to locate the proper fire department of jurisdiction?”
Mood replied: ” When you ask for costing you ask all these questions. Can you provide this service? We have said very clearly apples to apples.”

Meanwhile, firefighters in the region are being urged to attend a meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at 7:30 at Par-En-Bas School in Tusket.
