A small cruise ship has visited the Town of Yarmouth.
The ‘MS Fram’ and its 120 passengers arrived mid-morning from New York.
The passengers are from all over the United States including Maryland, Atlanta and more.
This woman from West Palm Beach, Florida says she is happy to be in Yarmouth.
“Looking forward to a lovely day, such beautiful weather today and that sets it up very nicely for us.”
The tourists will embark on walking and bus tours.
The passengers were sent in on Zodiac boats from the vessel, which was near Bunker’s Island.
The vessel was not able to dock in Yarmouth Harbour due to the depth of the boat and tides.
General manager of YASTA Neil MacKenzie says everyone has worked together to make this happen.
“This is the first time a small cruise ship has come in with the crew landing like this. It’s been great. Everyone is working together, vendors are offering specials, we’re really trying to make the best of this visit.”
MacKenzie says the crew were prepared to do the excursions, and it’s a very normal situation for them.
The vessel is expected to leave at 3pm.
