Maple Grove Education Centre and Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School had three cheerleading teams attend Cheer Expo over the weekend at the Halifax Forum.
There were 121 teams competing in various divisions with approximately 2500 athletes participating in the competition.
This two day event saw all three Yarmouth area school teams compete twice; once on Saturday and once on Sunday with judges scores combined from both days to finalize placings.
Yarmouth High Level 4 team placed 4th in their division.
Yarmouth High Level 2 team brought home 3rd place and “HIT Zero” which means ran a clean routine and had zero deductions on their Sunday performance.
Maple Grove, who is celebrating their 10 year anniversary of cheerleading at the school, did something they’ve never done in previous years.
They “Hit Zero” on their Saturday performance and brought home their first Cheer Expo Championship title placing first in the Jr. High Level 2 division.
All three teams travel to Liverpool on Thursday, March 29th for a High School Invitational competition and Maple Grove competes for the Jr. High Regional Banner.
