Work has yet to begin on the Salvation Army’s new thrift store in Yarmouth.
But there’s a lot going on behind the scenes at 287 Main Street.
Captain Mike Mailman says things are moving forward.
“We’re not going to see anything physical for a little while yet. We’re trying to get contractors in place. There’s a lot of t’s to be crossed and i’s to be dotted. Everybody’s excited.”
Captain Mailman says while they will be sorry to say goodbye to the present location, 259 Main Street, the new building will still be downtown, will be more easily accessible and will better meet the needs of the community.
The Salvation Army’s Thrift Store profits go right back into the community programs that the Yarmouth Salvation Army offers.
Mailman says when you shop at the Thrift Store or donate items, you’re helping our community.
