Provincial funding announced last week for upgrades to Maple Grove Education Centre in Hebron is all new funding.
Education Minister Zach Churchill said the province would provide $390,000 for work on the middle school.
Recently, renovations to washrooms on the first floor were completed, and it was thought the funding announcement included that work.
Tri-County Regional School Board Director of Operations Steve Stoddart says the $390,000 is in addition to the washroom renos.
He talks about plans for the funds.
“We’re going to renovate another set of washrooms in the school and we’re going to do an upgrade to the front entry system.”
Maple Grove was built in 1978.
Stoddart says this is something the staff and students have been looking forward to.
Work is expected to begin in January and finish by the end of March.
