The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners stopped a four game losing streak yesterday.
Kyle Bergh scored 1:24 into overtime to lift the Mariners over the Blizzard 2-1 yesterday in Edmunston.
Luc Poirier had the other Mariner goal, and Leif Hertz was victorious in net with 30 saves.
It was the last stop on a three game in three night trip through Northern New Brunswick.
The Mariners opened the trip with a 2-1 loss in Campbellton Friday night.
Matt Smith had the lone goal in the third period as the Mariners poured on the pressure, but couldn’t tie the game.
Saturday night, Yarmouth fell 5-3 in Miramichi.
Andrew Martell, Brent Broaders and Logan Timmons had the goals, Aaron Maillet had two assists.
Yarmouth’s record is now 14-6, they sit four points behind South Shore for first in the Eastlink South Division.
The Mariners return home this weekend for two games, Friday night against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers and Saturday against the St. Stephen Aces.
