Once again the Salvation Army is looking for your generosity and compassion.
It is launching its Christmas Kettle Campaign at 6pm today at the Yarmouth Mall.
It’s one of their biggest fund raisers.
Captain Mike Mailman says the need is always there.
“It’s not always seen, but yes the need is great. We have a tremendous number of people who come to visit us who are in a bad way and especially at Christmas time.”
He says all the money raised in the Yarmouth and Barrington areas stays in the local communities.
Mailman says their Christmas ‘giving tree’ will also be set up.
“On the tree you’ll find white tags and on each tag there is a toy that comes from the wish list of a child whose family has applied for assistance this Christmas.”
Captain Melissa Mailman will be at the Yarmouth Mall this evening as well for anyone who wants to adopt a family for Christmas.
