Université Sainte-Anne has announced that the job placement rate for graduates of its Bachelor of Education program is nearly 100%.
It says school boards across Canada actively seek out their graduates.
Allister Surette, President and Vice-Chancellor of Université Sainte-Anne, says they, in fact, offer an employment guarantee.
Should the students fail to obtain employment in their field before the start of the fall university term following the awarding of their diploma, they may return to enroll free of charge in a program which level is equivalent to the one in which they had been enrolled.
Surette says they’re also convinced that teachers who have completed a French-Second-Language or French-First-Language program are exceedingly well-positioned to enter the labour market.
“Especially in the Bachelor of Education program. To have both official languages opens doors wide open for them. They can teach in the Acadian or Francophone school boards across the country. They can teach in all the immersion programs in the English school boards. The current demand in the education system in Nova Scotia and across Canada is that there’s a of French Immersion, French-first language and math teachers.”
Université Sainte-Anne is the only French language post-secondary institution in Nova Scotia.
