Work on a dog park in Yarmouth is progressing at a good pace.
It’s located on a two-hectare site on Jarvis Street.
Craig Crocker, chair of the Yarmouth Dog Park Association says the site has all been graded.
“The next step is to get some gravel brought in so we can get our parking lot. Once that’s done we’re hopefully going to get a large compact roller and we should be ready to to put our crusher dust down. That’s going under the fence.”
The 1300 feet of fencing will be put up in early spring.
Crocker says they need to raise about $70,000.
They’re selling sections of fencing for $300 for sponsorships.
He says at some point they will be asking the Town of Yarmouth for one-time funding of between $8,000 and $10,000.
Crocker says Mile East Productions is hosting a Dog Dash fundraiser this Sunday.
It will begin at 9:30am at Rudders.
