A Yarmouth County man charged with Attempted Murder appeared in court today for a bail hearing.
32 year old Nicholas Ashton Mullen of Pembroke was remanded into custody and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court once again tomorrow morning.
The defense requested Mullen’s release on conditions, but the Crown successfully argued that the charges are too severe.
Mullen is also charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm with Intent.
The charges stem from an incident at a Pembroke home early Saturday morning.
RCMP say a 38 year old Yarmouth County man was found shot outside the residence.
Mullen was arrested at the scene without incident.
The victim was taken to hospital in Halifax with life-threatening injuries.
