Repairs to Building B at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital are finished.
Damage was done after pipes burst last December during a cold snap.
Starting this week, staff, physicians, offices and services that were displaced due to the water damage are moving back in.
The move began this morning and will take until the end of the day Friday.
Nova Scotia Health Authority spokesperson Fraser Mooney says staff are looking forward to getting back in their regular locations.
“On Monday morning, July 31st, we hope to have all operations back to normal as they were prior to the flood back in December. The staff and the physicians have been remarkably patient with this, as well as all of our patients and the public. They’ve been very understanding with the disruption. We have to thank everyone for being such good sports about a very unfortunate accident.”
The authority advises those at the hospital to avoid Building B until the move is complete, as there will be a lot of activity in that section.
Movers will be using the Building B elevators for the rest of the week.
On Monday, Mooney says additional volunteers will be on site to help point patients and the public in the right direction.
