Ten golfers from the South Shore and Tri-Counties are vying to be crowned best men’s amateur in Nova Scotia.
The 84th MCT Insurance Men’s Championship gets underway today at Oakfield Golf & Country Club.
The four day, 72 hole stroke play championship will determine the provincial champion and select the team that will represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Men’s Amateur Championships.
Local golfers registered to participate in the tournament are:

- Matt Collins, Osprey Ridge Golf Club

- Mark Metcalfe, White Point Golf Club
- Jacob Muise, West Pubnico Golf and Country Club
- Aaron Nickerson, River Hills Golf and Country Club
- Jody Swim, River Hills Golf and Country Club
The women’s amateur and senior championship begins Friday at River Hills Golf and Country Club in Clyde River.
