If the 50-year old UFO sighting in Shag Harbour isn’t a mystery enough, how about the generosity of a mystery donor.
The anonymous individual saved the Shag Harbour 50th anniversary UFO festival.
The Shag Harbour UFO Incident Society were denied $20,000 in funding it had requested from the federal government’s Canada 150 grants.
Society vice president Brock Zinck said shortly after word got out about that, this person came forward.
“I can’t reveal much. We were contacted by this person and they came through with a significant amount of funding which I’m not allowed to reveal how much it was exactly. It certainly reinvigorated us and we feel like what we are doing is more important than ever.”
The Shag Harbour UFO Festival takes place from September 29 to October 1 with the 50th anniversary on October 4th.
There will be a UFO-themed costume contest for people and pets.
Also symposiums and suppers are planned. And the popular bus tour returns.
