Dragonboating is back at Lake Milo.
It will happen every Monday and Wednesday at 6pm, starting on Victoria Day.
It’s free for the public as all the equipment is provided by Yarmouth Recreation.
Mark Hubbard has been facilitating dragonboating for nine years.
He explains the rules.
“You have to be over 30 pounds. We go up to adults from that point, we have life-jackets for everybody. We have all of the equipment. All you need to do is show up with a positive attitude. It’s basically a sight-seeing venture, but we do some fun exercises in between. People should arrive at about 5:45 as the boats fill up fast. But if somebody just missed the boat, we can still make time for them to participate.”
Hubbard is also taking part in the Dragonboat Challenge at Lake Banook once again this July.
The team from Lake Milo has gotten better each year over the seven years at the event, and won silver last year.
