For the third year in a row, property owners in the Municipality of Clare will see no increase in their tax rates.
Last night council passed a $9 million dollar operating budget.
The tax rates remain the same…$1.04 per 100 dollars of assessment for residential properties and $2.07 for commercial.
CAO Stephane Cyr told Y95 News about Clare council’s priority projects for this year.
“Like many other municipal units, rural Internet remains a very high priority for council. It is something we are working on at the moment and plan on continuing to do so well into this year. Other projects of note include a new fire hall for St. Bernard and the development of the Cape St. Mary’s Lighthouse.”
The federal government divested ownership of the Cape St. Mary’s lighthouse to the municipality and council wants to transform the property into a municipal park.
