Construction of the new Shelburne Guild Hall is complete and the town has invited community groups to take part in its grand opening.
That is scheduled for May 26-28.
The weekend-long launch aims to showcase how the community can use this space.
Mayor Karen Mattatall is very pleased with how the $300,000 open-air structure turned out.
“It’s absolutely beautiful ! It’s going to such an asset for the community. I’m so pleased with all the people who were involved. It was designed by the community so it wads what they wanted to see there to replace the old Guild Hall.”
Mattatall hopes the new Guild Hall will draw more residents and visitors to Shelburne’s waterfront.
The Hall will also be open for private bookings of activities and events, such as weddings.
It features a new lighting and a stage curtain and weather wrapping is also planned.
