With the arrival of spring, many drivers across the province are cutting the number of wheels on their vehicle from four to two.
May is Motorcycle Awareness month.
Between now and October over 27,000 motorcyclists will be on Nova Scotia’s roads and highways.
Over that time, motorcyclists are five to six times more likely to have a fatal collision than other vehicles.
Safety Services Nova Scotia is reminding drivers to be alert for motorcycles and check their mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes.
And after a long winter, it’s also a good time for riders to take a refresher course and sharpen their riding skills.
