Applications are now being accepted for moose hunting licenses.
Only 345 people will receive a license through a lottery process.
To be eligible, applicants must be a resident of Nova Scotia, at least 18 years old and have a valid Nova Scotia Wildlife Resources card.
Hunters who have held a moose hunting license in the past five years cannot apply.
The cost is $9.25 and applications must be received by mail, phone or online before midnight on May 31.
There are five moose hunting zones in Nova Scotia, all of which are located in Victoria and Inverness counties.
