It’s May, which means tourism season is nearly here.
In Yarmouth, work has been happening to prepare for the season.
Bay Ferries vessel ‘The CAT’ will once again be operating from Yarmouth to Portland, Maine.
Rick Allwright with the Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association says a good year will be in store.
He says he heard a lot about the ferry when he went to trade shows over the winter.
“People would come up to us and tell us they already had tickets booked on the boat, and they would ask us what to do when they get to Yarmouth. That is really encouraging. Bay Ferries has had the time to get marketing in place this year. We had a great season last year, even though they didn’t have a lot of time for marketing. Everything is looking in our favour, we just have to keep it going.”
Allwright’s company Mile East Productions is putting on the Spring Living Show at Mariners Centre this weekend, and will be hosting the first ever Yarmouth Craft Beer Festival on May 27.
