Kevin O’Leary has officially dropped out of the Conservative Leadership race and is putting his support behind Maxime Bernier.
One of the main factors behind O’Leary dropping out of the race is surrounding the fact he cannot speak French and felt he could not get votes from Quebec.
O’Leary is ending his campaign just hours before tonight’s last leadership debate in Toronto.
In a statement, O’Leary says he is not a politician and he never pushed a shopping list of promises.
He said the only promise he made was his desire to achieve 3% economic growth in Canada.
O’Leary says the ultimate goal is to drive Justin Trudeau out of power in 2019 and then to work towards economic growth in the country.
It was not an easy decision for O’Leary to make, but he calls it “the right one for the Conservative party and the country”.
