There is just one road that leads out of Pinkney’s Point, Yarmouth County.
And residents of the small community want to make sure it’s safe for years to come.
Concerns are mounting about erosion on the shoreline beside the road.
Tides from storm-surge have been washing away the ground, and a post holding a guardrail is almost completely visible.
District 2 Councillor Daniel Allen says this is an important issue for residents of Pinkney’s Point.
“We have a couple businesses down there that run big trucks. They are hoping someone is going to start examining this. I think that will happen soon.”
Allen says he met with MLA Zach Churchill recently on the issue.
“He was quite surprised to see how much erosion had taken place.”
He says Churchill told him the Department of Transportation will be working on it.
