Council for the Municipality of Barrington are still crunching numbers for their 2017-2018 budget.
They hosted a public input session in late January.
CAO Rob Frost says they’ve been piecing the document together since then and have had a number of meetings in recent weeks.
“We’re hoping to have it wrapped up by the end of May at the latest.”
Frost says while there will be some changes from the previous budget, he doesn’t expect anything dramatic.
He says assessments are up in the Municipality of Barrington but council has directed staff to find savings where they can.
Frost says the council is looking at a number projects.
“They are looking at a lot of our recreational services that need to be reviewed and our assets in general to try and determine where we need to dedicate some funding to do some asset management studies, which would include our sewer, and if there’s possibilities for expansion.”
Last year the budget was a little over $8 million.
