A good reminder for when you clean the house.
The Yarmouth Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a home on Cleveland Road in Central Chebogue today.

While there were no visible flames, the homeowner told firefighters there was a smoke smell.

Platoon Chief Lynn Seeley says they determined it was coming from a toilet brush holder.
“The residual left over from the previous cleaning mixed with a cleaner that was not the usual one that used, may have com-busted based on some of the previous things we’ve had at laundromats for example.”
Seeley says it’s important to read labels on cleaners, especially if you switch them.
He says the only damage was to the bathroom.
