The Mayor of Yarmouth is ‘talking trash’ on Facebook, literally.
Pam Mood says over a span of 30 days she’ll be bringing to light numerous garbage and litter issues in the town.
Mood says she receives constant complaints from residents.
“The complaints range from people leaving their garbage out a few days before pickup to dog owners leaving their pets’ mess on the sidewalk. It’s crazy, I can’t understand why people think this is OK.”
Today, Mood posted about how the weekly collection of garbage and blue bags can’t go out to curb until 9pm the night before.
She says hopefully it will reach the people that need to be reached, and encourage residents to take action.
The Mayor says heftier fines from the town may be in order.
She says she’s having fun with the posts, but it is a serious issue that the town needs to look at.
