The West Kings Wolverines won the Cook’s Cup yesterday at Mariners Centre with a 3-2 victory over the Par-en-Bas Sharks. The championship game was well-attended, with many fans cheering on the hometown Sharks. Ethan Doucette and Derek d’Eon scored for the Sharks, who led 2-1 in the third period. But PEB ran into penalty trouble, and the Wolverines would find the winner with 8:24 left. Sharks Coach Julien Boudreau says his team had a great tournament. Earlier Sunday, the Sharks won their semifinal game over Central Kings 2-0, and the Wolverines got to the championship game by beating Barrington 7-2. The co-host Yarmouth High Vikings played in some close games, but went 0-4.

The Captains Choice Trucking Bantam B Mariners will be moving on to the Provincial Day of Champions after defeating West Hants twice in the Windsor Arena on March 26th. Yarmouth went into the day down 1 game to 0 in the best 2 out of 3 series. Yarmouth had already defeated Acadia in the first series 2 games straight. They will now face the Dartmouth Whalers the weekend of April 8th in a 1 game series for the Provincial championship.

The Chris Scott Construction Yarmouth Mariners Atom AA had a successful weekend winning the Port Hawkesbury tournament this past weekend. The team went undefeated winning the banner, great way to end the season. A special thanks to Chris Scott construction.

Scoring for Yarmouth was Hayden Young with 2 goals; Ryan Warner and Zach Richardson with one goal each. Brennan Smith had two assists; Ryan Warner, Denver d’Entremont, Caelen Wallace and Jay DeViller, Blake Goodwin and Gavin O’Connell each had one.
The team have next weekend off before heading to Glace Bay for the provincials.

The Yarmouth Junior A Mariners will say farewell to their fans later today.
A meet and greet is scheduled at Mariners Centre from 5:45-6:45.
The season ended for the Mariners Saturday night in a 5-3 loss to the Bearcats in Truro.
Yarmouth lost their opening round series in five games.
Five 20 year olds played their final game of Junior hockey: Captain and defenseman Ryan Daley, defenseman Alex Mann, forwards Lawrence Lyver and Max Robitaille and goaltender Justin Ritcey.
