Nova Scotia’s premier hasn’t ruled out calling a spring election after the provincial budget is tabled next month.
Stephen McNeil told reporters on Thursday the spring session at the Nova Scotia Legislature will open April 25 with the budget being tabled two days later.
McNeil said his plan was to have the session wrap up by the Victoria Day long weekend in May.
“I’m looking forward to tabling a budget to communicate to Nova Scotians how I see this province going forward and I’m looking forward to spending my summer going around talking with Nova Scotians.”
That’s all McNeil would commit to saying to media on the issue.
He says MLAs will discuss a number of pieces of legislation but expects the budget to take up the majority of the spring session.
