Nova Scotia RCMP are warning residents of Yarmouth and Halifax of the release of a high risk offender.
36 year old James Andrew MacKay is being released tomorrow from the Atlantic Institution in Renous, N.B. after completing a sentence for sexual assault and other offences.
His criminal record dates back to 2000, including convictions of uttering threats, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, sexual assault and killing or endangering other animals.
Police say MacKay’s violent offences have happened to those who share intimate relationships with him.
MacKay will be on strict conditions for two years.
RCMP say residents are being informed so they may take suitable precautionary measures.
They say any form of vigilante activity or unreasonable conduct will not be tolerated.
