One minute of the third period put the Yarmouth Junior A Mariners behind in their first round MHL playoff series.
Cameron MacLeod scored the game winning goal with less than five minutes to go, and Dylan Burton scored a minute later as the Truro Bearcats defeated Yarmouth 5-2 in Game 1 of their Eastlink South Division semifinal in Truro.

Connor Peveril tied the game at 2 for the Mariners in the third period before the two quick Bearcat goals.
Mariners goalie Leif Hertz made 31 saves and was named third star, while Truro’s Jason Rioux turned aside 21 shots for the victory.
Yarmouth got on the board first, with Mateo Short lighting the lamp late in the opening period.
Mark O’Shaughnessy would tie it on the powerplay for the Bearcats before the end of the first.
The Bearcats played much of the game without their Captain, league leading goal scorer Kyle Tibbo.
Tibbo was ejected in the first minute of the game after receiving a game misconduct for checking from behind.
The Mariners will look to tie the series in Game 2, Saturday night, 7:30 at Mariners Centre.
