Playoff hockey returns to Yarmouth this weekend.
The Junior A Mariners will face the Truro Bearcats in Round 1 of the MHL Playoffs.
Game 1 is Thursday night in Truro, Game 2 is in Yarmouth on Saturday night at 7:30.
The Mariners missed the postseason last year, but a strong start to this season and balanced play secured the team their spot.
Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says they want to bring that ‘playoff buzz’ back to Yarmouth.
“It’s been too long since everyone got involved and excited about playoffs. We want to be that team to get everyone excited.”
The Mariners lost all six games to Truro this season, three in the shootout.
Barron says all that goes out the window, and everybody starts at zero in the playoffs.
Just one injury for Yarmouth, forward Andrew Martell will miss the start of the series.
